We spent our anniversary late last December with a 'Stay-cation' at the Gateway Hotel Marine Drive, Ernakulam, as getting leave was not guaranteed, and hence, we couldn't plan anything else in advance. This hotel scores based on one strategic attribute- it's location. Right by the Marine Drive, the sea view rooms offer a wonderful view, through the day and night.

The people at the Taj were kind and thoughtful enough to do up the room for the occasion. We even found a delicious cake waiting for us in the room when we got back from the complementary Sunset Cruise.
The restaurant on the ground floor, the Bubble Cafe, is a high-ceiling-ed, bright, happy place. The breakfast spread is quite good. And the dinner was a treat, as there was live music as well, along with a live counter of desi galli khana.

Over all, it was a wonderful weekend spent, wonderful moments cherished, and we are looking forward to a stay-cation, very soon!
